About 1 year ago there were questions among us dealing with the future of CrossRoads. “When will we build the new sanctuary?” Or, “Are we going to buy the property next door?” In response I immediately began asking God what were we to do. Still very new at CrossRoads I recognized the weightiness of these questions and the long term impact that the answer could bring. Being the courageous soul that I am I found my cover in God as I sought Him and His answer for CrossRoads.
Very soon after I began praying I received an answer in the form of a picture. This is why I refer to the answer as a vision, but I could easily refer to the answer as our calling. The picture is very simple and clear, but at the same time it provokes many, many questions. The temptation, of course, is to elaborate on the picture and make it say more than it was intended to say. Such a stunt is something I promised that I would not do. Consequently, in several weeks you will find me answering some of your questions by saying, “I don’t know,” or, “I’m not sure. What do you think?” This is why it is so important that we take the time to lay a proper foundation for sharing this vision and that you remain faithful in prayer so that God overrules all our personal preferences.
